Your dog is yours to love—this just allows us to continue responsibly raising future puppies.

👉 Most families save thousands compared to purchasing a puppy.
🏡 What does the arrangement look like?
For Females:
Stay with you as your pet most of the time
Come to us:
~1 week during heat
~9 weeks for whelping (having puppies)
For Males:
Live with you full-time
Only visit us briefly for breeding
We work closely with you and keep everything as smooth and predictable as possible.
How often are dogs bred?
Typically females have 3-4 litters in their breeding career then we spay them. Research suggests that leaving dogs unspayed through multiple heat cycles increases the chance of infections as unlike women, dogs go through the entire hormone cascade of a pregnancy if they’re bred or not, to the point where after a heat that they’re not bred they can even produce milk. So we start at around 18-24 months old after OFA health testing is completed for hereditary diseases, breed twice back to back if she recovers like our girls normally do (some weigh more after weaning the puppies than they did before they were bred), set out a year, then either just one last litter or if she’s just exceptional one more litter after that and spayed. Females come into heat every 6-9 months.
A typical schedule could be:
Bring a new puppy home in Spring 2026
Health testing at 1 year old.
If passed bred in Fall 2027 or
Spring 2028. First and second litters in 2028. No litter in 2029.
Last litters in 2030. Spayed 2031.
